The Story
OUR STORY
for days. There had been no sign of Sam, Travis or Taylor to brighten those days.  Mother was well aware of the tense situation, and we were very quiet as we packed up all the gear into the trunks for the journey home. She did say, “no, Daughter, don’t pack that trunk. That one is Claude’s.”
All the trunks looked exactly the same. They had been a gift from Claude to Father earlier in life to celebrate their accomplishments.
Now both Claude and the family had many matching trunks. If I had only turned the key on the trunk that day, maybe things would have been different. But that was something I only learned much later. 
Breaking camp was always a sad day, but for some reason, today seemed WORSER than any other time. The saddest part for me was not seeing the Bug'z to say goodbye.Then as the men loaded the smaller boats, I noticed
