Finally, the letter Father had waited for so long arrived. We'll ship out soon, the letter said. So pack your trunk and bring your family. P.S. bring jar loads of film. Yours truly, Claude Philippe. The day finally arrived and we all met at the docks. “ What is the big adventure ? ” My father asked, after all the introductions had been made, Victor to Father, me to Claude, and so on. There was excitement in the air.

I could feel it, even as a child. Claude leaned toward Father and said, “I have found something special. You will see, I will fill you in on the boat. Come now, we have waited long enough, my old friend.”

Claude smiled and winked at me. I liked him and Victor right away. Victor was young, handsome and tall with gentle eyes. “After you, young lady,” he said to me with a soft, deep voice.
