OUR STORY
Well, I didn’t tell anyone about the exploration and excitement of that night, not even my mother and father. The rest of the voyage was the same as the start. Father kept his distance from Claude Philippe, and young Victor. Victor, I think, felt so wrong about his part in tricking the Bug'z into captivity that he never came out of his cabin for the rest of the journey. Maybe it was guilt and remorse. I can only guess. I don't think he had
a bad bone in his body. At any rate, when we finally pulled into port and began to unload all the gear, I did catch a glimpse of Victor as he made his way off the ship. After that brief moment, I could no longer see his eyes when he turned quickly and was lost in the crowd. I thought that would be the last time I ever saw Victor Spoil'z. As for the trunks, no one picked up on the swap that had been made. The dock workers loaded them up
